Choir Announcements & Program Updates
Greetings Choir Parents & Students,
I hope this email finds you well and taking full advantage of the holiday break and wonderful weather. What an incredible week have had. We started the week with a wonderful showcase of student artistry and growth at the Fall Concert and enjoyed some of the most fantastic desserts. Your donations and support of this event helped us raise over $1200 towards student scholarships and other program goals. The Spartan Chorale's gave an incredible performance at UTA on Tuesday evening, sharing their passion for choral excellence with an audience of their peers and parents in a wonderful space. It was wonderful to see the faces of so many alumni both in the stands and in the choir at Friday night's Homecoming Game. We enjoyed getting to make music with members of our choir family from across the years.
On Saturday, 25 of our students competed in the 2nd Round of All-State Choir Auditions, during which over 400+ for positions in the All-District and All-Region Choirs. Of our 25 students that auditioned, 9 students were selected for membership in the All-Region Choir (advancing to Round III) and 13 students earned places in the All-District Choir. We could not be more proud of you for all of your hard work and musicianship. A special thank you must go out to the parent volunteers that served as door/room monitors and our parents that chaperoned our students throughout the day. We your service and care for our students during this challenging process. Way to go, Spartans!

Fall Concert DVD Sales will continue through this Friday at 4:15PM. Please return any order forms with payment to the choir room by this time to receive your copy of this wonderful performance. DVDs are $15 each and may be purchase with cash or check (made payable to CCBC). The order form has been attached.
Chocolate Sales Continue This Week
Our first fundraiser of the school year continues this as an additional 72 boxes of chocolate for distribution. Students check out a box of chocolate upon their 8th period release or immediately after school. Final distribution of boxes will conclude on Monday, October 19th, with sales concluding on October 21st. Students who have not yet opted in to this year's fundraiser are strongly encouraged to do so to off-set the cost of fees, trips, and/or our end of year banquet.
Musical Audition Videos are Due This Week
We are very much looking forward to this year's Fine Arts Department Musical, Little Shop of Horrors. This dark yet comedic adventure is full of great music and witty dialogue. There is a part for actors/singers of almost every experience level. Students auditioning for this year's production of Little Shop of Horrors must submit all paper forms and application videos to either Ms. Mudd or Mr. Cooley by the end of the day on October 15th. Once videos are received and reviewed by the audition panel, a list will be released for Call Backs. These students will attend a second audition on Saturday on October 24th. Final audition results will be posted on Sunday, October 25th.
New Orleans - Trip Payment InformationThe second installment this year's trip payment is due on Thursday, October 15th. For your convenience in making these payments, the Paypal option in Charms has been activated to accept electronic payments. Simply log into your students account and visit the finances tab to begin this process. Those wishing to use fundraiser credits to secure their next trip payment should contact Anne Hoagland at firstname.lastname@example.org. Any questions about your student financial account may be forwarded to the same address.
BHS V CHS Homecoming FB Game Performance
This Friday, all male choir members in the CHS Choral Department will be participating in the singing of the National Anthem at the BHSvCHS Football Game. They will be joining approximately 120 young men from BHS, Kerr and Hughes to perform just before the opening kick-off. To help us prepare for this event the men will meet at BHS at 5:30pm for rehearsal. Dinner (provided by the choir booster clubs from each school) will be served at 6:20PM. Our performance will occur after both teams have entered the field (approximately 7:25PM).
Students that wish to stay for the duration of the game will be dismissed to the student section reserved for each high school. Those needing to depart after the performance will be escorted to track entrance of the football stadium for pick up. Due to the nature of the game and the likelihood of a large turnout for the cross-town game, adults not officially serving as chaperons will need to purchase tickets for admission to the stadium. The volunteer sign-up has been posted in Charms.Students will wear jeans and their choir shirts for this performance. More information will be sent home tomorrow.
The CHS Women will combine forces with the Kerr MS women for the National Anthem at the October 23rd Football Game.
Show Choir - Please note the change to our rehearsal schedule. We will meet on Thursday Afternoon from 4:30-6:00PM. Please communicate any conflicts during class or via email by tomorrow afternoon.

Wednesday: PSAT Administration/College Fair (AM); Adjusted Schedule (PM); Round III All-State Sectionals (4:30-5:30PM)
Thursday: Trip Payment #2 Due ($100); Show Choir Rehearsal (4:30-6:00PM)
Friday: Round III All-State Sectionals (7:45-8:30AM); Men's National Anthem Performance (BHS Call Time - 5:45PM, Dinner Time - 6:20PM, Performance Time - 7:25PM).
