CHS Choir Update - Week #5
Good Evening Choir Parents and Students
I hope this email finds you well and enjoying the slightly cooler weather today. We are off to a tremendous start this year. The students are working incredibly hard developing new skills, building relationships, and mastering challenging literature. Each of the choirs at CHS has experienced incredible growth since the first week of school. We cannot wait to share their progress with you at our Fall Concert on October 5th.
Dessert Social Tickets have been distributed to each of our students. Please speak with your student about the information distributed in class on Friday and/or the email distributed earlier today regarding this event. Dessert Social is a wonderful event that assists us with raising capital funds to support the distribution and expansion of student scholarships and other financial forms of support for the department. We hope that you will invite other to join us as we celebrate the start of a fantastic school year.
Uniform distribution will begin tomorrow. A list will be posted in the choir room tomorrow morning outlining the uniforms available for pick up and who is eligible to take them home. Uniforms are required for the dress rehearsal on October 1st. General Activity Fees for 2015-2016 are $65.00. Fundraiser Credits and Miscellaneous Account Balances may be used to settle all fees for the current school year. Those students or families in need of additional time or alternative payment arrangements should contact Mr. Cooley as soon as possible to discuss these needs. Please make checks payable to the "Choir Booster Club.”

Finally, the First Six Weeks Grading Period ends this Friday. All students should be working to ensure that all assignments are complete and submitted in a timely manner to their instructors. Those students with missing assignments should plan to submit them no later than Monday at 4:15PM. Grade conferences will be held with students on Tuesday in all classes to ensure that students are aware of their academic standing in their classes and to provide them with the opportunity to seek support in being as successful as possible both in choir and other academic areas. Should students earn marks lower than 70 on this grade report, they will be ineligible for the next three weeks. This will prevent them from participating in any tickets performances, competitions, or athletic events from 10/2 to 10/23.
