9/10 Honor Choir Information
All 9th and 10th grade students in the Centennial HS Choral Department are invited to participate in the TMEA Region 9/10 Honor Choir Audition process. The work done in preparation for these auditions does much to improve your musicianship and potentially earns you points for advancement within the Choral Department, if you choose to do so. This is a great entry step into high school auditions & the All State process, so if you're seeking that growth, participation is encouraged! Practice intelligently and practice often.
These auditions will take place on the morning of October 26th at Boswell HS (we will travel by bus as a group). This is a singular audition, and if students earn a spot in the ensemble, they will get the honor of participating in the Region 30 Clinic & Concert day on November 14th at Arborlawn United Methodist Church in Fort Worth.
More specific audition information will be shared here in the near future.

AUDITION MATERIALS & REHEARSAL TRACKS
There will be 4 songs to learn for the performance, but only the 3 listed above will be auditioned. Copies of these four songs can be found on the piano in the choir room. These are the songs:
1. Hold Fast to Dreams (LaBarr)
2. I Sing Because I'm Happy (Dilworth/arr. Padden)
3. In Meeting We Are Blessed (Robertson)
4. Viva! (Mozart/arr. Liebergen)
This link has tracks for everything you need to be successful in these auditions. Newly included is the actual audition cut track they will use at the auditions. There's tracks for mastering your individual voice part, how your voice part fits within the full mix of the choir, and piano accompaniment tracks. Use these, voice lessons with teachers (if in lessons), and after-school sectionals offered by Chabot, in order to learn and improve confidence!
